THE PRESIDIANS TAKE AN ACTIVE PART IN THE TEETH-MAKING ACTIVITY
Learning is experience, rest is just information!
In sync with its pedagogy of 'experiential learning' and an ongoing theme of Science - 'teeth', Presidium Dwarka 22 recently gave a platform to its students to demonstrate their learning in a different and innovative way. The students were given practical exposure to develop their scientific perspective by being an active partaker in the enjoyable 'teeth-making' activity. The students elucidated different types of teeth with the help of material POP or clay. The activity was taken to the next level through discussions held on the experiment, thereby exhibiting a keen interest of our Presidians in the same area. This hands-on experience also helped the children learn to work in teams.
LITTLE PRESIDIANS SPARK THEIR IMAGINATION WITH COLOURING CONTEST
A picture can help children to recognize line, perspective, colour, shape and form. To give our little Presidians an opportunity to express themselves in an artistic way, a fun-filled colouring competition was recently organized at Dwarka 22. Students from grades nursery and prep kindled their creativity and enjoyed this platform to show their keen interest in colouring. Children participated earnestly in the competition and each of them artistically coloured to present cute treats to the eyes. Inspiring the Presidians to think and work creatively, this enjoyable contest promoted artistic excellence in them.
TELEPHONE-MAKING ACTIVITY: A FUN-FILLED EXPERIENCE FOR PRESIDIANS
In sync with the theme 'communication' in EVS, the young Presidians meticulously involved themselves in the 'telephone-making activity', in which they designed and created their own telephones using cups and threads. Performing the activity with great joy, the students cherished the moment of their own creation and were full of energy. Telling various interesting facts about telephone, it was indeed a learning experience for the Presidians.
PRESIDIANS EXPERIMENT & LEARN THE PROCESS OF SEED GERMINATION
Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I'll learn!
Keeping in mind the above philosophy, Presidians of grade 5 from Dwarka 22 were given a golden opportunity to witness the process of 'seed germination'. They were given hands-on experience to examine the process in a fun-filled way. The purpose of the activity was to make the students understand the process of seed germination, to know about the conditions required for the same and visualize the different parts of root system. Children were provided with materials like soil, jar and kidney beans. They anxiously performed the experiment, which was followed by a conversation round on the same that exemplified their learning. The results of the experiment were observed regularly over the period of time. It was overall an inordinate platform for students to build relationship between learning and happening in class and the real life world.
RELISHING A LEARNING EXPERIENCE AT INDIAN SCIENCE FESTIVAL 4.0
We are delighted to share that 262 students from grades 3 to 7 of Presidium Dwarka 22 recently attended the Indian Science Festival 4.0. Organised by the Hindustan Times on 11th August, 2017 at the Thyagraj Stadium, New Delhi, the Science Fest featured exciting activities and workshops. The Presidians tried hands on different fun-filled activities, Science mascots, Science street and Character visits. They had fun with the magical spell of Harry Potter using Science experiments and explored the fascinating world of electricity and Chemistry. Solving mysteries with the secrets of forensic Science, they enjoyed new set of Science shows, flew a drone and danced with the robots. Overall, it was an experiential learning experience for students.
PRESIDIANS OF GRADE 1 LEARN THE IMPORTANCE & CLEANLINESS OF HOME
Home is where we live with our loved ones. It is a very essential part of everyone's life. To inculcate the sense of its importance and enhance the comprehension skills of the students about the ways to keep it clean, a beautiful culmination of theme 'Home' was conducted by students of Grade 1. The culmination session was very interactive and enabled the students to share the importance of living in a home. They learnt that home protects us from sun, wind, storm and rain and shared their knowledge and experience about the theme by discussing the uses of various rooms of a home. The theme also taught the young learners about the use of different things like broom, vacuum cleaner, wiper and washing machine to keep the house clean.
MUN TRAINING: SENIORS DISCUSS ABOUT RIGHT TO FREEDOM OF RELIGION
“With the right ideas and the courage to translate them into effective actions, you will succeed.” - Albert Schweitzer Presidium Dwarka 22 has the same vision as we believe that the students' learning is adequately garnered by schools. Considering that besides academic brilliance, extracurricular activities, public speaking and knowledge of world affairs are also key areas of learning, we recently organized a PMUN (Presidium Model United Nations) Training Session for our students. The main objective behind PMUN is to inculcate the spirit of active citizens of tomorrow in our students and to enhance this, we collaborated with Brainwiz for a training session, which will be of great support to our Presidians during the PMUN. Full of zeal, the students attended a two-day learning experience, wherein they learnt and also experienced being a delegate and diplomat of a country. Representing their assigned country, they learnt about working of the UN and making draft resolution after debating on the problem 'Right to Freedom of Religion'. The trainers gave them valuable feedback at regular intervals and also guided them about the usage of important UN documents to oppose and support the views of different delegates. It was a treat to watch our young Presidians from grades 7 to 11 coming together and sharing the same platform of learning. The training for sure has been a very successful endeavour for enhancing their knowledge about the upcoming PMUN and will further open the minds of students to the vast issues that affect our lives outside the classroom walls.
PRESIDIANS JOYFULLY CELEBRATE THE EARTHLY ARRIVAL OF LORD KRISHNA
‘Festivals are characterised by colour, gaiety, enthusiasm, prayers and rituals!’
Rejoicing the earthly arrival of Lord Krishna, Janmashtami is one such festival in India, which is celebrated with high spirits at Presidium every year. A special assembly was recently conducted by the students of grades Nursery to 3 on the pious occasion of Janmashtami. The assembly gloriously began with the recitation of Gayatri Mantra and an informative speech about the story of Shri Krishna's birth and further journey. The students of all three classes together enacted various scenes depicting his birth, his childhood leelas, his war with Kans and finally, the triumph of good over evil. The audience was also told about how the festival is celebrated with pomp and jollity all over India. The tradition of breaking matki was also shown very well. The captivating dance performances and colourful aura created by our young Presidians enriched the event thoroughly
INDEPENDENCE DAY WITH SUDHA MAM:PATRIOTIC WILL DAWNS AT PRESIDIUM
India proudly soars high today, free & independent; may the joy of freedom embrace us always!
To mark the importance of the glorious 71st Independence Day of India, Presidium Dwarka 22 recently celebrated the occasion with great enthusiasm and delight. This grand celebration was graced by the distinguished presence of our school's esteemed Chairperson, Mrs. Sudha Gupta. Respected Sudha ma'am inspired and sensitized the Presidians with her valuable and inspirational words and created a sense of pride for the country in their hearts. Echoing with patriotic songs, the program started with flag hoisting, followed by National Anthem, which filled the atmosphere with nationalism and devotion. The students paid homage to those brave national heroes, who sacrificed their lives for our country with pride and honour. A patriotic dance performance on 'Vande Matram' and an excellent presentation about our great national leaders was executed with exemplary excellence by the 'leaders of tomorrow'. The patriotic fervour was at the fullest throughout the celebration and the melange of patriotic expressions presented by the students created an aura of national pride.
PRESIDIANS FROM DWARKA 22 DISCOVER HUMANITY AT SPARSH
Somebody has aptly said, ‘The purpose of life is not to be rich, but to be honourable and compassionate’. With such thoughts in mind, Presidians visited Sparsh, to gain an insight on how the NGO works and how the specially abled children are taken care of. Sparsh students gave us a profound welcome through their big and vibrant smiles that truly made our day. It is was truly, a heart touching act of generosity by Sparsh special students.
Presidians spent some enlightening moments with the Sparsh students and developed respect for the specially abled. They wander through the journey of mixed emotions of disbelief, contentment and affection. The entire experience was extremely fruitful for everyone and Presidians realised that in God's world, 'Every child is a different kind of flower and altogether they make the world a beautiful garden'.
